162APPENDIXYouareresponsiblefornotifyingyourdealerimmediatelyifthereisaproblem,andyou,astheowner,willneedtoauthorizethedealertoinspecttheunit.Youwillberesponsibleforpayingforroutinemaintenance,includingthefirstscheduledservice.YoucanhavetherequiredservicingdonebyyourKawasakidealer(recommended)oranequally-qualifiedservicefacility.Youcanalsodoyourownmaintenanceworkifyouhavethepropertools,servicereferences,andme-chanicalskills.However,ifafailureisfoundtobecausedbyimproperservicing,itwouldnotbecoveredbythelimitedwarranty.YoumaypurchaseaKawasakiServiceManualandanynecessaryspecialtoolsdirectlyfromyourKawasakidealer.Youwillberesponsibleforpayingforrepairsneededbecauseofanaccident,toreplacewornpartssuchastires,chains,brakes,andforrepairsneededbecauseofalackofmaintenance,misuseorracing.WhetheryoudoityourselfortakeyourvehicletoaKawasakidealer,besuretorecordyourserviceintheMaintenanceRecordsectionofthisOwner’sManual.Keepallreceiptsfortheserviceand/oritemsnecessarytoperformthemaintenancesothatintheeventofafailureyoucandocumenttheservicehistory.
